Tea originated in China, known as the “Cradle of Tea”. It was there that it was discovered by the Emperor Chen Nung. Concerned about his health, the Emperor used to boil his water before drinking it. In 2737 BC, he undertook a journey across the country. Exhausted after a long day of walking, he decided to rest under a tree and prepared his pot of boiling water. A breeze blew up and dropped a few leaves of Camellia Sinensis into his drink. When he woke up, the Emperor drank a cup of this infusion and fell under its spell: tea was born.
